For animals on long term medication, the general requirement is that check-up appointments are required every 6 months. Animals with more serious conditions – such as heart problems or diabetes – may require more regular monitoring. This decision is entirely at the discretion of the veterinary surgeon. These appointments are provided at a reduced cost and are entirely in the best interests of the animal concerned to ensure continued efficacy and safety of treatment.
